Emergency Response Ends in Collision

A Greater Manchester Police van responding to a Grade 1 emergency call crashed into several parked cars on Drake Street, Rochdale on Wednesday, March 11.

Police say the van was travelling at a normal speed when it was hit by a blue car pulling out from a side road. The impact forced the van into a row of parked vehicles, causing a messy pile-up.

Should the Blue Car Have Pulled Out?

The incident has sparked questions about the actions of the blue car driver. Should they have waited longer before pulling out? Was a proper check for oncoming traffic even made?

One thing is clear: the police crew were on a critical call, making the collision all the more serious. Fortunately, no further details on injuries have been released yet.
