A 24-year-old sex offender has been locked up for over seven years after grooming a 14-year-old girl online and coercing her into sex. Vitor Soares de Oliveira, a Brazilian living in Surrey, initially denied the charges but changed his plea midway through his trial at Swindon Crown Court in January.
Shocking Grooming and Abuse Revealed
De Oliveira admitted to five counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of creating Category A indecent images of a child. Last Friday (20/03), he was sentenced to seven years and six months behind bars. He must also register as a sex offender for life and face a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. A £228 surcharge was also imposed.
How the Abuse Came to Light
The horrific crimes came to light in June 2025 when the victim bravely told a friend about the abuse. Police became involved after concerns grew that the girl was missing from home and seen with de Oliveira. The court heard he plied her with drugs, alcohol, vapes, and food to keep control.
Disturbingly, the victim thought de Oliveira was just 19 years old, as he tried hard to hide his real age.
