A group of protesters gathered outside the headquarters of a water company to demand an end to sewage pollution after a series of incidents.

The activists, belonging to Extinction Rebellion, unfurled a plaque outside Southern Water’s office in Worthing, urging the company to halt its pollution of the seas.

About 15 demonstrators participated in the protest, which conveyed the message that enough is enough.

A Southern Water spokesperson acknowledged the demonstration and expressed an understanding of the protesters’ concerns. The company is committed to improving the quality of bathing waters by investing in treatment works and collaborating with other agencies to achieve a greater positive impact.
