The mother of 29-year-old Lewis Kent, found dead at his Salford flat on Good Friday, has paid a moving tribute to her beloved son. Debbie described Lewis as a loving, family-focused “gentle giant” who “would never hurt a fly.”
Tragic Discovery After Missing Morning Message
Lewis, who lived with autism and ADHD, was known for his strict routines and daily check-ins with family. When his usual morning message didn’t arrive on April 3, Debbie immediately went to his home on Gus Risman Street and made the devastating discovery. Emergency services were called shortly after 1pm, but sadly, Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Arrest Woman Over Domestic Abuse Suspicions
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse linked to the case. She has since been released on bail as investigations continue. Officers say the cause of Lewis’s death remains unknown, with inquiries ongoing.
Family and Friends Recall Lewis’s Warmth and Kindness
“He was my gentle giant,” Debbie said. “He loved his family, loved staying in touch, and never missed a morning check-in. When that message didn’t come, I knew something was wrong.”
Debbie revealed Lewis had endured major trauma recently, including the deaths of his father and a close friend, but he “kept going for his family,” always brightening those around him with warmth and humour. Friends remember Lewis as “a lovely lad” and “one of the kindest people you could ever meet.” Tragically, Lewis was just weeks away from his 30th birthday.
