A grisly collision on the A20 coastbound near Roundhill Tunnel has left a man in his 30s fighting for life. Kent Police were called to the scene at 8.45pm on Tuesday 3 March 2026 after a grey Peugeot 308 was hit by a white MAN articulated lorry.
Man in 30s Seriously Injured, Lorry Driver Arrested
The Peugeot was stationary when the lorry, travelling in the same direction, smashed into it. Emergency crews rushed to the scene. The car driver was rushed to a local hospital with multiple injuries and remains in treatment.
The 52-year-old lorry driver was also taken to hospital as a precaution before being arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
Road Reopened After Hours-Long Shutdown
The A20 was closed until 1.45am on Wednesday 4 March, causing major delays for night travellers.
Police Urge Witnesses and Dashcam Owners to Speak Up
Officers want anyone who saw either vehicle before the crash or captured it on dashcam to come forward urgently. Those with information who haven’t yet spoken to police should call 01843 222289 quoting reference 03-1478.
