Petrol Station Raid Ends Behind Bars
A brazen criminal threatened two petrol station workers with a fake firearm during a daring robbery in Bapchild. Michael Pollock stormed into the BP Service Station on London Road at around 9.20pm on Sunday, 12 October 2025, and demanded cash from the till at gunpoint.
Fake Gun Fails to Fool Staff
Pollock repeatedly shouted and pointed the imitation weapon at the terrified workers, forcing one to flee and call Kent Police. As Pollock forced open the till and grabbed the cash, the second worker bravely wrestled the fake gun away and lobbed it at Pollock as he tried to escape.
Quick Action Snaps Up Crook
The victims chased after Pollock and managed to retrieve some of the stolen money during the struggle. Police reviewed CCTV footage and identified Pollock within an hour. Officers then arrested the 35-year-old at his Blossom Street home.
Justice Served
Pollock pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear. On Wednesday, 25 March at Maidstone Crown Court, he was sentenced to six years and two months behind bars.
“Pollock was motivated by his own greed and used a weapon in a public place to inflict fear towards the victims,” said Detective Constable Jack Seager. “Quick work by officers means this dangerous individual has been taken off the streets and will spend a significant time behind bars.”
