Southampton airport suspend flights following runway incident

Passengers travelling through the airport Southampton are being advised that all flights have been cancelled or delayed until at least 10.30am. The closure follows and incident involving a plane who tyre blew out when coming into land at the airport. The airport emergency services and airport staff rushed to the runway and arrived within minutes. The runway remains blocked to all traffic and flights due to land have been put on divert. Staff at the airport this morning are advising customers using the airport to expect delays of around 60 minutes on all flights following a tyre blowout on an earlier landing. More to follow
