A 16-year-old boy from Romford has been charged with the murder of 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor in Woolwich. The youth was formally charged on Friday, 10 April, and is set to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Saturday, 11 April.
Tragic Shooting Shakes Woolwich
Police were called to Lord Warwick Street at 3:40pm on Thursday, 2 April, following reports of a shooting. Officers and paramedics found Eghosa with severe injuries. Tragically, he died at the scene. Specialist officers continue to support Eghosa’s grieving family as the investigation presses on.
Multiple Arrests in Murder Probe
- On Saturday, 4 April, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were arrested in Woolwich on suspicion of murder. Both were later bailed.
- An additional 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and was also bailed.
- Two boys, aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man arrested on Friday, 3 April, have all been bailed while inquiries continue.
- On Friday, 10 April, a further 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
The Met Police investigation is ongoing as officers pursue justice for young Eghosa.
