The peaceful Leicestershire community was rocked after 62-year-old James “Jimmy” McKeown was found unconscious in Beaumont Leys Park on Monday evening, April 6. Paramedics rushed Jimmy to the hospital, but heartbreakingly, he later died.
Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute
Jimmy’s family described him as a “loving father, brother, partner and grandfather” who was deeply cherished by all who knew him.
“To say that the events of yesterday evening have changed our lives forever is an understatement. We have lost a loving father, brother, partner and grandfather, our lives will never be the same again,” the family said. “Jimmy has lived locally for nearly 20 years and was well known in the community, affectionately known to many as Spider.” “We would ask that people respect our privacy and give us the time to come to terms with what has happened.”
Police Make Arrest – Investigation Ongoing
Leicestershire Police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of murder on the same night. He remains in custody, with detectives continuing their questioning.
