Two adults have been charged in relation to the tragic death of a 5-year-old girl in Park Forest, Chicago according to local authorities. The incident unfolded on Friday evening when officers and paramedics responded to a residence in the 300 block of Osage Street following a report of an unresponsive child.

Klent Elwoods, the child’s grandfather, made the distressing call to 911 and admitted to first responders that he had abused the girl, as confirmed by officials. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics immediately began administering CPR before transporting the girl to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Hospital. However, due to the severity of her injuries, she was subsequently airlifted to Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday morning, as reported by the police.
