A 38-year-old man has been slapped with a lifelong restriction order after violently abusing a woman in Alloa.

Henry Laverty’s Horrific Assault

In September 2024, Henry Laverty unleashed a savage attack that left his victim severely injured. The thug pled guilty on 10 March 2025. He was sentenced on 7 April 2026 at the Glasgow High Court to a minimum of two years and three months behind bars. But the lifelong restriction means Laverty could spend the rest of his life locked up.

Justice Served: Tough Non-Harassment Order

The court also handed down a lifelong non-harassment order protecting the victim from Laverty.

Detective Inspector Forbes Wilson said: “Laverty is a dangerous individual who subjected his victim to a horrific attack and this sentencing reflects that. An order of lifelong restriction means he may never be released from prison.” “I hope this outcome sends a clear message that domestic abuse will not be tolerated.” “I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage anyone who has experienced or is experiencing domestic abuse to report it to us. All reports are thoroughly investigated, and we have specially trained officers who, alongside our partner agencies, will support you throughout.”
