NatWest Banking App Outage Leaves Thousands Unable to Access Accounts

Thousands of NatWest customers have been left frustrated and unable to access their accounts after the bank’s mobile app experienced a significant outage early on Sunday morning. The issue, which began shortly after 7:00 a.m. on 10 November, quickly led to a surge of complaints, with over a thousand customers reporting problems on the outage monitoring site DownDetector by 9:00 a.m.

NatWest confirmed the outage and has responded to customers on social media, apologising for the inconvenience and stating that there is “no timescale” for a resolution yet, though they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Many customers took to social media to express their frustration.

Some customers reported being unable to access both the app and the online banking portal, further intensifying their frustrations

A NatWest spokesperson acknowledged the disruption, stating, “We are aware that some of our customers are experiencing difficulty logging in to the mobile app this morning. We’re working to resolve this as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

This is not the first time NatWest has experienced issues with its digital services this year, with similar outages reported in October, August, and May. The bank advises customers to check its service status page for updates or visit their nearest branch if they urgently need assistance.

Customers are encouraged to stay tuned to NatWest’s social media channels and website for further updates as the bank works to restore full service.
