O2 has announced it will discontinue its pay-as-you-go (PAYG) data-only SIM service later this month, impacting thousands of customers who rely on the mobile broadband and iPad service.

Service Shutdown Details

  • The PAYG Mobile Broadband & iPad services will be officially discontinued on 31 January 2025.
  • Customers have been notified via email and are advised to use up any remaining data before the shutdown.
  • For those with unused data, refund requests can be made by contacting O2 customer services at 0344 8090222.

Official Customer Notification

O2 has sent the following email to affected customers:

“We’re sorry to let you know that we’re removing our Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband & iPad services from our portfolio on January 31, 2025. Our customer account management portal will be closing on December 17, 2024. You can continue to use your service until January 31, 2025, after which time your service shall cease.”

O2’s Statement on the Closure
