Sussex Police are on the lookout for the owner of a suspicious vehicle loaded with thousands of illegal tobacco products. The red Citroën C3 was discovered parked on Grinstead Lane, Lancing, on Tuesday, March 24.
Thousands of Smokes and Hand-Roll Tobacco Seized
Officers swooped after reports raised an alarm about the vehicle. Inside, they found around 4,700 cigarettes and 5.8kg of hand-rolling tobacco. The stash is believed to be non-duty paid, pointing to a serious illicit tobacco operation.
No Arrests Yet as Investigation Continues
Both the tobacco haul and the vehicle were seized during the crackdown. No suspects have been arrested so far and enquiries are ongoing, with police urging anyone who knows who owns the car to get in touch.
