Beloved actress Gudrun Ure, best known for her role as Super Gran in the iconic 1980s children’s TV series, has died at the age of 98. Tributes have flooded in for the Scottish actress, who captured the hearts of audiences with her memorable portrayal of Granny Smith, a grandmother turned superhero.

Ure’s character in “Super Gran” gained superpowers after being accidentally hit by an inventor’s ray, leading to adventures that entertained children and adults alike. The series, based on the popular books by American author Forrest Wilson, ran from 1985 to 1987 on ITV, with a theme tune famously sung by comedian Billy Connolly.
