Greater Manchester Police have launched a witness appeal following the violent assault of a 62-year-old man in Middleton, Rochdale, on the evening of Tuesday, 6 May 2025.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30pm near the roundabout connecting Green Lane and Stanycliffe Lane, close to Middleton Cemetery. Police say the victim was attacked from behind and rendered unconscious before being verbally abused by the unknown suspect who then fled the scene.
A post from Roch Valley Radio on X (formerly Twitter) helped amplify the appeal, with locals sharing and discussing the case.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Greater Manchester Police are urging members of the public to assist with the investigation:
“If you were in the area around Green Lane or Stanycliffe Lane at 8:30pm on 6 May 2025, or saw anything unusual, we want to hear from you,” a spokesperson said.
