After the resounding success of “Help! We Bought A Village,” Channel 4 and True North are thrilled to announce the exciting expansion of the “Help!” franchise. The groundbreaking series, which saw Brits quitting their jobs, selling their homes, and embarking on life-changing adventures, captured the imagination of the British public over 20 gripping episodes.
The much-anticipated second series of “Help! We Bought A Village” is set to return with a whopping 30 new episodes later this year. The show continues to follow brave individuals and families as they embrace the challenge of a lifetime.
But that’s not all; Channel 4 has also greenlit two exciting spin-off series: “Help! We Bought A Jungle” and “Help! We Bought A Hotel.”
“Help! We Bought a Jungle” will chronicle the journey of one passionate couple, Patrick and Lindsay, who’ve taken on the project of a lifetime. They’ve purchased a slice of jungle paradise in the Seychelles and have grand plans to transform it into a two-bedroom dream home for themselves, along with two luxury cottages for guests. This 4-part series will provide an intimate look at their efforts to build a fully sustainable, off-grid oasis while battling the challenges of 40-degree heat, tropical storms, and power outages. The first series will premiere on Channel 4 in 2024, with a second series already slated for 2025.
Meanwhile, “Help! We Bought a Hotel” will follow contributors at various stages of developing their hotel businesses across the UK and Europe. The series will capture these determined couples as they purchase, build, restore, and transform remarkable properties into thriving hotel ventures. This six-part series is scheduled to air on More4 in 2024.
Julie Beanland, Creative Director at True North, expressed her delight, stating, “This is fantastic news for everyone on the True North team who’ve worked so hard to make a success of the Help! programs so far. It is also a huge vote of confidence from Channel 4 in both the Help! franchise and in regional production as we continue to showcase more fantastic contributors following their dreams.”
Jayne Stanger, who commissioned the shows for Channel 4, echoed the excitement, saying, “We are delighted to have recommissioned True North to make a second series of the brilliant Help! I Bought A Village and to have further expanded the franchise, capturing more incredible stories of people chasing their property renovation dreams.”
These programs promise to offer even more inspiring stories of determination, transformation, and the pursuit of dreams as the “Help!” franchise continues to captivate audiences across the UK and beyond.
