Police Sergeant Helps Reunite Woman with Lost Bag on Bus

In a heartwarming incident, a Merseyside Police sergeant went above and beyond the call of duty to help a distressed woman who had accidentally left her bag on a departing bus. Sergeant Garreth Berry, known as Sgt 4000 on social media, shared the story, highlighting the relief and joy on the woman’s face when she was reunited with her belongings.

The Roads Policing Unit reported that Sergeant Berry was flagged down by the woman, who realized her bag was still on the bus just as it pulled away. Responding quickly, Sgt Berry coordinated with Arriva North West to track down the bus and secure the bag.

Arriva’s driver and Merseyside Police worked together to locate the bus, leading to a successful reunion. Sergeant Berry posted on social media, “The panic on her face when I pulled up! Just glad we could find the bus and her bag. One very happy owner reunited with her bag!”

The Roads Policing Unit emphasised that police work isn’t just about issuing tickets; it’s also about serving the community and helping residents in times of need. This incident is a reminder of the positive impact community-focused policing can have on everyday lives.
