A 52-year-old man from Eastbourne has been slapped with a hefty nine-and-a-half-year prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple child-sexual abuse offences.
Groomed Teen into “Normal Relationship”
Back in 2011, the predator groomed and repeatedly abused a 13-year-old girl. He manipulated her into believing their twisted connection was “normal.”
The victim bravely cut ties but only came forward a decade later, as an adult, in 2021.
Justice Served at Lewes Crown Court
After a thorough police probe, the 52-year-old stood trial at Lewes Crown Court. He was convicted on nine counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of causing a child to commit sexual activity.
- Prison sentence: 9 years 6 months
- Lifetime inclusion on sex offenders register
- Indefinite restraining order
Police Praise Survivor’s Courage
A Sussex Police rep said: “We commend the victim’s bravery in coming forward. Regardless of how much time passes, we are committed to pursuing justice in historic abuse cases.”
This grim case reminds us that safeguarding wins and justice are still possible, even years after abuse has taken place.
