A Birmingham man has been slammed with a hefty 18-year jail sentence after being convicted of multiple child rape offences and hoarding hundreds of indecent images of children.
Groomed Victim Speaks Out, Leading to Arrest
Mohammed Ali, 23, from Handsworth, was busted after the young boy he abused bravely came forward. The victim revealed years of ongoing sexual abuse, prompting a police probe.
Shock Discovery of 443 Indecent Images, 250 ‘Category A’
When cops raided Ali’s home on Onisbury Road, they uncovered a sickening stash of 443 indecent photos and videos on his phone. Alarmingly, 250 of these were Category A – the most serious level of child abuse imagery.
Guilty Pleas, Lengthy Sentence
At Birmingham Crown Court on November 27, Ali pleaded guilty to eight counts of rape, including four involving a boy under 13. He also admitted to distributing child abuse images.
The judge handed down a tough 18-year sentence. Ali will serve 12 years behind bars, with the remaining six years on licence.
West Midlands Police said this conviction sends a strong message that anyone who harms children will be brought to justice.
