Firefighters are battling a huge blaze at a commercial unit in Walsall packed with fireworks. The alarm was raised just after 8.27pm on Thursday, December 4, sending crews rushing to Pleck Road.

Fire Service Mobilises Rapid Response

West Midlands Fire Service swung into action within three minutes, deploying 11 fire engines, two brigade response vehicles, and a hydraulic aerial ladder platform. The burning unit is massive — around 100 by 30 metres — fueling the ferocious fire.

“We’re using at least five main jets alongside the aerial ladder to tackle the inferno,” said a fire service spokesperson. The warehouse reportedly holds fireworks, stock, and wooden pallets, making the situation highly dangerous.

Police and Partners Join the Fray

West Midlands Police are handling traffic to keep the area clear. A fire service drone is providing crucial aerial views, while the Environment Agency, National Grid, and local authorities have been alerted.

No casualties have been reported so far. Crews remain on the scene working hard to contain the blaze. Authorities urge the public to avoid the area to ensure safety and allow emergency teams to carry out their work.
