Man Arrested Following Sexual Assault at Devil’s Point Car Park in Plymouth

Detectives investigating a report of sexual assault at Devil’s Point car park in Plymouth have arrested a man in connection with the incident.

The assault was reported to have occurred at around 9.45am on Friday, 18 April, when a woman sitting in a parked vehicle at the car park was approached and sexually assaulted by a man.

Following a public appeal earlier this week, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that they received a “significant number of calls” from members of the public offering information.

Inspector Katy Deer, who is leading the investigation, said:

“Following our appeal on Monday, we have received a lot of calls in relation to this investigation.
We would like to thank all those who have come forward with information. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Police have confirmed that a 31-year-old man from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage or information related to the incident to come forward.
