Police Probe Bamford Close Fight and Car Fire in Brighton

Police have launched an investigation following a reported altercation in Bamford Close, Brighton, which has since been linked to a vehicle found ablaze in Whitehawk Road.

Emergency services were called to Bamford Close at around 6:18pm on Thursday evening (26 June) after witnesses reported a fight involving multiple individuals.

Although no injuries have been reported at this stage, three people were seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle, which was later discovered on fire in Whitehawk Road.

Vehicle Set Alight

Crews from East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service responded quickly and extinguished the fire before it could spread.

Police have not confirmed whether the vehicle was deliberately torched, but have stated that enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Search and Witness Appeal

Officers have carried out an active search of the surrounding area and are appealing to the public for information.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said:

“We are investigating a disturbance in Bamford Close and a related vehicle fire in Whitehawk Road. While no one has been reported injured, we are working to identify those involved and clarify the sequence of events. If you witnessed anything or have relevant information, please contact us.”
