Single Mum and Four Kids Left Homeless After Crayford Flat Blaze
A single mother and her four children have been left homeless after a devastating fire tore through their flat in Crayford on Monday night. The blaze, believed to have started from a faulty tumble dryer, ripped through their home near Crayford Town Hall, destroying nearly all their possessions.
Family Loses Everything, Including Beloved Cat
While the mother and her children escaped with their lives, heartbreak struck when their beloved family cat tragically died in the fire. The family now faces the grim reality of losing their home and personal belongings in an instant.
Community Rallies Behind Family with GoFundMe Appeal
A close friend, Lottie Packer, has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help the family start over. She said:
“In a matter of minutes, she lost everything—her belongings, her children’s clothes, toys, and the place they called home. They only have the clothing they are wearing. As a single mother, her first concern is making sure her children have a roof over their heads, clothes to wear, food to eat, and eventually the comfort of a stable home again.”
So far, the community has raised £1,680 towards a £2,000 target. The funds will go towards basic essentials like clothes, food, and school supplies for the children, as well as helping the family find new accommodation.
