Man charged with fatal stabbing of Tesfa Campbell in Battersea

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Tesfa Campbell in Battersea have charged a man with murder. Jerome Bailey, 37 of Greenock Road, Streatham, SW16, was charged on Monday, 8 July. He will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court that same day. Tesfa, who was aged 40 and from Croydon, was found with stab injuries on Latchmere Road, SW11, at around 2.45pm on Wednesday, 3 July. He was taken to hospital where he sadly died of his injuries at 7.40.pm. A post-mortem examination on Friday, 5 July, gave cause of death as a single stab wound to the abdomen. On the morning of, Sunday, 7 July, officers arrested Bailey on suspicion of murder. Three other people have been arrested in connection with the investigation. A 26-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed to a day in early August. A 23-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released under investigation.
