Couple Caught Red-Handed Running £75k Cocaine Operation in Swindon

A Swindon couple have been locked up after a taxi’s CCTV exposed their daily illegal cocaine trade.

Taxi CCTV Snaps Drug Deal in Action

Donna Midgeley, 32, and Jordan Williams, 35, were busted following a police probe into a cocaine supply line across Swindon. On 24 May 2022, officers spotted a suspected drug deal in Aldi’s Mead Way car park. Williams was seen trading with Malcolm Dennis, 50, who then sold an ounce of cocaine to a local taxi driver, Daniel Wells, 43.

Wells’ cab camera captured the entire deal, leading to arrests and guilty pleas for Dennis and Wells, who received suspended sentences.

Secret Stash Uncovered at Storage Unit

The Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) turned their attention to Midgeley and Williams. The pair were caught making multiple deals nightly after work. Police found a filing cabinet at a rented self-storage unit. When raided on 13 October 2022, their Longstock Court home was stuffed with cocaine and cash.

The filing cabinet held over 750 grams of cocaine worth £50,000 to £75,000, plus Midgeley’s work uniform, scales, and gloves. Williams’ fingerprints were discovered on the drug packaging.

Jail Time for the Drug Duo

Both admitted involvement in cocaine supply. At Swindon Crown Court on 15 December, Williams was sentenced to four years and eight months, and Midgeley to four years and three months behind bars.

DS Hilton of Wiltshire Police SOCU said: “This was simply a case of greed – both had full-time jobs yet sold huge amounts of cocaine across Swindon, flashing their profits on executive cars. Midgeley’s uniform found with drugs in the filing cabinet was their undoing. We will now move to seize their assets under Proceeds of Crime laws. We urge the public to keep reporting suspicious activity. Every tip helps us catch crooks like these.”

Police warnings are clear: crime doesn’t pay. And the public’s eyes and ears remain vital in catching dealers red-handed.
