A Swindon couple have been jailed after a taxi CCTV camera exposed their daily cocaine racket.
Taxi Cab CCTV Snaps Drug Deal Dead to Rights
Donna Midgeley, 32, and Jordan Williams, 35, were caught red-handed following a police probe into a cocaine supply chain across Swindon. On 24 May 2022, officers spotted a shady deal in Aldi’s Mead Way car park. Williams was seen trading with Malcolm Dennis, 50, who then sold an ounce of cocaine to local taxi driver Daniel Wells, 43.
Wells’ cab camera recorded the entire transaction, leading to immediate arrests. Dennis and Wells later pleaded guilty and received suspended sentences.
Secret Cocaine Stash Found in Storage Unit Raid
The Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) focused on Midgeley and Williams next. The pair were caught making multiple drug deals every night after work. Police discovered a filing cabinet in a rented self-storage unit containing their illegal goods. Then, when officers raided their Longstock Court home on 13 October 2022, they found it stuffed with cocaine and cash.
- Over 750 grams of cocaine worth £50,000 to £75,000 hidden in the filing cabinet
- Midgeley’s work uniform, scales, and gloves found alongside drugs
- Williams’ fingerprints on drug packaging sealed their case
Jail Sentences for Swindon Cocaine Dealers
Both Midgeley and Williams admitted their roles in the cocaine supply. At Swindon Crown Court on 15 December, Williams was handed four years and eight months behind bars. Midgeley got four years and three months.
DS Hilton of Wiltshire Police SOCU said: “This was simply a case of greed – both had full-time jobs yet sold huge amounts of cocaine across Swindon, flashing their profits on executive cars. Midgeley’s uniform found with drugs in the filing cabinet was their undoing. We will now move to seize their assets under Proceeds of Crime laws. We urge the public to keep reporting suspicious activity. Every tip helps us catch crooks like these.”
The police message is clear: crime doesn’t pay. But with vigilant public tips and hidden CCTV footage, dealers are getting caught every day.
