A Sheffield man is charged with murder and will appear before court following the death of Chris Marriott in Sheffield.

On 27 December at 2.06pm, emergency services were called to College Close in Burgreave following reports of violence and disorder. As the call was underway, a car collided with a group of people.

A 46-year-old man, now known as Chris Marriott died at the scene and a 32-year-old woman remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Hassan Jhangur, 23, of Whiteways Road, Sheffield was arrested and has since been charged with murder and five counts of attempted murder. He remains in police custody and will appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (30 December).
