An HGV crash has forced the closure of a key M62 link road overnight. National Highways confirmed the accident happened after a heavy goods vehicle smashed into the central reservation.
Major Route Closures at Junction 35
As a result of the collision, the link roads from the M62 westbound onto the M18 southbound, along with the link from the M18 northbound onto the M62 at Junction 35, are all shut. The move was necessary to allow emergency services and recovery teams to safely manage the scene.
Barriers Being Repaired as Road Remains Closed
National Highways said: “Following an earlier collision involving a HGV that has struck the central reservation, the link roads from the M62 west onto the M18 south and the M18 north onto the M62 at J35 remain closed. Emergency barrier repairs are underway with the road remaining closed overnight.”
