Teenager in Critical Condition After Hit-and-Run Incident in Bradford
A 17-year-old male is in critical condition following a hit-and-run incident on Halifax Road, Bradford, on the evening of September 16.

The incident occurred around 8:25 pm when a police patrol car spotted a speeding vehicle on the opposite carriageway. As officers attempted to turn around and pursue the vehicle, it disappeared from view. Shortly after, they discovered a pedestrian who had been struck by the same vehicle. The driver failed to stop at the scene.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The incident has prompted a large police response, with Halifax Road currently closed to facilitate investigations. Authorities are actively searching for the driver involved in the collision.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing to the public for any information or dashcam footage that may assist in their investigation. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the police on 101 or use the LiveChat facility at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/livechat, quoting log 1763 of 16 September.

A voluntary referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as part of the standard procedure for such incidents.

Police are continuing to investigate the matter and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
