Former US President Donald Trump revealed on Tuesday that he has received a letter from prosecutors indicating that he is likely to face criminal indictment in relation to the January 6 riot at the US Capitol.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter… stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6 Grand Jury investigation.” He expressed his concerns about the situation, mentioning that he was given only “a very short four days” to appear before a grand jury, a timeframe that typically indicates an arrest and indictment.
