A teenage boy is in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after being stabbed in Bermondsey on Saturday evening.

Police were called to Alscot Road, SE1, near Bermondsey Spa Gardens, at 6.48pm following reports of a group of boys armed with weapons.

On arrival, officers found a 14-year-old boy with a stab wound to the stomach. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Investigation ongoing

The Metropolitan Police confirmed no arrests have been made at this stage. Officers have launched an appeal for witnesses and are urging anyone with information or footage to come forward.

A spokesperson said:

“Police were called at 6.48pm on Saturday, August 30 to Alscot Road, SE1 following reports of a group of boys carrying weapons. Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and a 14-year-old boy was located with a stab wound to his stomach. He was taken to hospital where he remains with potentially life-changing injuries. Enquiries remain ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage.”
