A young child is fighting for their life after a serious crash at Gorrell Tank car park in Whitstable, which left three people injured.
Emergency services were called to the car park, near the junction of Cromwell Road and Harbour Street, at around 8.15pm on Saturday, 16 August, after witnesses reported a vehicle ploughing through metal barriers before landing in the car park.

Three Injured, Including Young Child
Paramedics treated a child, a man, and a woman at the scene. A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed the child was taken to hospital in a “very serious condition”, while the man sustained serious injuries. The woman was also hurt, though her condition has not been disclosed.
Witnesses described chaotic and emotional scenes as families were told to avoid the area.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic incident. Officers are at the car park today to offer help and support.”
The site reopened on Sunday morning, though emergency investigations are continuing.

Police Appeal
Kent Police have yet to confirm whether any arrests have been made. The force is urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.
