Kent Police was called at 6.10am on Saturday 2 September 2023, to the Pelham Road area of town, following a report a man had been seen in possession of a possible firearm. An extensive search of the area was carried out but no one matching the man’s description was located.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Rabey said: ‘An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing and our officers are continuing to explore several lines of enquiry to identify and locate the suspect.
