Kent Police Have Charged Dover Man with Murder After Whitfield Woman Found Dead

Fatal Attack Rocks Khartoum Square

Kent Police have charged 32-year-old Joshua Izu with murder following the death of a 64-year-old woman in Whitfield. The grim discovery was made on Sunday, 29 March 2026, at 3:27pm, when officers rushed to a home on Khartoum Square.

Emergency teams arrived to find the woman had already passed away at the scene. Her family has been informed. Joshua Izu was arrested on the spot and remains in custody. He is set to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 31 March.

In the wake of the deadly incident, Kent Police have increased patrols across Whitfield to reassure the community. Although the cordon around Khartoum Square was lifted on Tuesday, 31 March, officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious.
