Roof Collapse and Structural Damage
The Georgian six-bedroom mansion—built in the late 18th century—suffered a partial roof collapse, with flames engulfing the first and ground floors. The property was undergoing refurbishment, and scaffolding surrounded the building at the time of the incident. Photos show damage to the adjoining cottage, although firefighters worked hard to protect it from total loss.
Public Advisory
Local residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the heavy smoke. Firefighters have since launched drone operations to assess the structural integrity and spread of the fire.
