Emergency crews raced to a massive house fire on Milton Road, Warley, Friday November 28. Seven fire crews battled to bring the flames under control after thick smoke blanketed the Brentwood area, forcing road closures and panic among residents.

One Dead, Elderly Man Hospitalised

Tragically, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. An elderly man was rushed to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. Thankfully, a neighbouring house also damaged by the blaze suffered no injuries among its occupants.

Cause Not Suspicious, Residents Warned

Essex Police confirmed the fire’s cause is not being treated as suspicious. Meanwhile, locals were urged to keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke that could be smelled for miles.

“Emergency services were called to a large house fire at a house in Milton Road, Warley, Brentwood,” said a police spokesperson. “Firefighters worked hard to bring the fire under control. Sadly, a woman died at the scene, and her next of kin have been informed. An elderly man was treated for smoke inhalation. A second house sustained fire damage but no occupants were injured.”
