Just before 10pm on October 30, a pedestrian was fatally struck on Aspen Way, Canary Wharf. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and found a 26-year-old man who was pronounced dead instantly.

Driver Flees Scene, Arrest Follows

The driver responsible fled before police arrived. But hours later, on October 31, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, possession of an offensive weapon, and failing to stop.

He has since been released on bail as investigations continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the victim during this tragic time,” said Detective Sergeant Ed Rulton from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
