Gardaí are in the midst of a murder investigation following the violent death of a woman in her 40s in Co Offaly. The tragic incident occurred at her residence in a rural area outside Tullamore, where she sustained severe injuries during the attack.
A 16-year-old boy, known to the victim, was swiftly arrested after gardaí responded to the scene at 1 pm yesterday. The teenager is currently in custody and can be questioned for up to 24 hours as investigations progress.
