The attack occurred at approximately 5.30pm on Monday, 1 September, on Coleridge Road. The teenager was walking with a friend along Coleridge Crescent when they encountered a man walking a dog, believed to be a Rottweiler.

As they passed by, the dog reportedly jumped up and bit the boy on the arm. The teenager contacted his mother, who arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, but the man with the dog had already left.

The boy was taken to hospital by his mother for treatment of his injuries and has since been discharged, recovering at home.
