A manhunt is underway in Hampton after a gunman opened fire in a drive-by shooting early Thursday morning, targeting a residence on Linden Road.

Witnesses report that an automatic weapon was used to spray bullets into the property, leaving shattered windows and a damaged front door.

Bullet casings from an automatic firearm were found scattered along the road, with additional casings discovered inside the home, valued at approximately £860,000.

Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police’s SO15 Armed Response officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 3 a.m., quickly securing the property and surrounding area.

Armed officers and detectives from the Met Police’s Trident team have cordoned off the neighbourhood as investigations continue.

Police have yet to confirm any injuries or identify a motive behind the attack.

A spokesperson stated that “crime scene preservation measures” are in place and advised residents to avoid the area while forensic examinations are conducted.

As detectives work to understand the circumstances leading up to the incident and assess any ongoing risks to the public, the community remains on high alert.

The police are actively pursuing leads and have asked anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
