In a devastating incident that has shocked the community of Rochdale, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a 40-year-old woman. The incident took place on New Barn Lane at 4.30am on Monday and was reported to the police by the ambulance service after concerns were raised about the woman’s welfare. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Smith from GMP’s Major Investigation Team expressed her deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased and extended thoughts of support during this difficult time. The investigation is currently in its early stages, and the investigation team is determined to explore all possible leads with an open mind.
