Road on Lock Down in Greenhithe following armed stand off with Police

Kent Police have placed a road in lockdown following a firearm incident in the Cobham Close area off Bean Road Greenhithe. Armed police are at scene and the road remained cordon off. A distressed man has been taken to hospital as a precaution after armed police were called following a call about someone with a gun in a property within the close around 11:40am this morning (Friday May 25th). Police carried out a serach of the property and have discovered an imitation firearm at the scene. A Kent Police spokesman said: “”Kent Police was called at 11.41am on Friday May 25, 2018 to a report of a distressed man inside a property in Cobham Terrace, Greenhithe. Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
