Big Tobacco Bust in Keighley: Scores of Illegal Cigarettes and Vapes Seized
On 24 March 2026, Keighley’s Neighbourhood Policing Team teamed up with West Yorkshire Trading Standards for a major crackdown on illegal tobacco and vape sales. Multiple local shops came under fire, including Moon Mini Market, Keighley Off Licence, Mr Blue, Keighley Continental, News Cabin, and The Break Room.
Massive Stash Confiscated Worth £41,000
- 1,265 packs of illegal cigarettes
- 359 pouches of hand-rolling tobacco
- 275 illicit vapes
The total haul is valued at a whopping £41,000, hitting the black market hard.
Crackdown Builds on Last Year’s Success
This swoop follows a series of raids carried out last December. Authorities are determined to keep up the pressure, collaborating with local partners to smash illegal trade rings and protect Keighley’s communities.
Trading Standards Chief Sounds the Alarm
“Thank you to all partners and members of the public for reporting illegal sales. The illegal tobacco trade is far from a victimless crime – it costs the government billions in lost revenue, makes it easier for children to start smoking, exploits families, and helps fund organised crime.” – Linda Davis, Head of Trading Standards (Protecting Communities)
