In the early hours of this morning, Russia launched a large-scale drone attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, according to Ukraine’s air force. The assault, involving 76 Shahed drones, targeted 12 regions across central, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian air defences successfully intercepted 72 of the 76 drones, showcasing the country’s advanced anti-air capabilities. However, despite the high interception rate, several drones caused damage in multiple parts of Ukraine.
So far, there have been no immediate reports of casualties resulting from the attacks.

This drone attack comes amid increasing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with Russian officials making threatening statements in response to Western countries potentially supplying long-range missiles to Ukraine. Senior Russian security official Dmitry Medvedev hinted that Russia could employ new weapon technologies to target Kyiv, describing it as a “giant metal spot.”
As the conflict escalates, concerns continue to grow within the international community over further aggression and its impact on Ukrainian civilians.
