Former police officer and rapist murderer Wayne Couzens has sparked controversy once again, this time by lodging a formal complaint after prison authorities intercepted a birthday gift from his mother. Couzens, currently serving a whole life order for the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard, expressed dissatisfaction over being denied a book and clothing items to mark his 50th birthday.
Sources revealed that Couzens, who is detained at HMP Frankland, voiced his grievances to prison authorities after his birthday parcel was intercepted in December 2022. Despite being informed that no prisoner is allowed packages sent from home, Couzens argued that a similar delivery had been permitted earlier in the year, shortly after he arrived at the top-security facility.
