18-Year-Old Charged with Murder Over Christmas Eve Dublin Shooting
An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Tristan Sherry, who was fatally shot at Browne’s Steakhouse on Main Street, Blanchardstown, Dublin, on Christmas Eve. Another man faces charges over assault causing harm to Mr Sherry during the same incident.
Murder Charge Laid Against David Amah
David Amah, 18, from Donabate, Dublin, appeared at Blanchardstown District Court to face murder charges. Garda Sergeant Emma Ryan confirmed that Amah was charged at Finglas Garda station shortly after 6pm the previous evening. He remained silent when presented with the charge sheet.
No Bail for Amah – High Court Only Can Grant It
Judge Máire Conneely made clear that bail is off the table for now, as only the High Court can grant it in murder cases. Amah’s solicitor requested he be remanded in custody. His next court date is set at Cloverhill District Court next week. Legal aid was granted due to Amah’s unemployment.
Second Man and Additional Suspect Also Facing Charges
Wayne Deegan, from Phibblestown, Dublin, is charged with assault causing harm, violent disorder, and producing a knife on December 24. Deegan was remanded in custody and is due before Cloverhill District Court on January 12.
Meanwhile, Michael Andrecut, 22, from Dublin 15, was the first person charged with Mr Sherry’s murder. He is scheduled to appear in court again on January 16.
Another Victim Dies After Shooting
Tragically, 48-year-old Jason Hennessy Snr, who was also injured in the restaurant shooting, has died in hospital. A murder investigation is now underway into his death.
