A Drug Driver From Highworth Has Been Disqualified From Driving For A Year

Daniel Radbourne, 34, of Queens Avenue, was arrested on April 19, 2021. Officers were on patrol in Highworth when Radbourne pulled out in front of them in a BMW, causing them to perform an emergency stop to avoid a collision. Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with Radbourne. Due to his erratic driving, a roadside drugs wipe test was carried out which was positive for cocaine. PC Sean Williams, of the Central South Neighbourhood Team, said: “Radbourne was found to be three times over the drug drive limit when he was arrested, and even more concerning, he had a child in the rear of the car at the time of his arrest. “Radbourne was driving in an erratic manner and was extremely close to crashing into a police van. It is fortunate nobody was injured as a result of his actions. “Drug driving is a serious offence – your reaction times are severely affected by drugs and as a result, you are putting yourself, your passengers and other road users at risk if you make the decision to take drugs and drive.” As well as the disqualification from driving, Radbourne was fined £700 and ordered to pay Crown Prosecution Service Costs of £800 and £70 to victim services.
