Rape Horror in Greatstone: Killer Walked Victim Home – Then Attacked
Robert Mills met a woman in New Romney one August evening in 2019. He offered to walk her home but instead led her through the woods to his house in Hardy Road, Greatstone. Once inside, he locked the door and brutally raped her.
Victim’s Brave Escape Despite Knife Threat
The terrified woman was shown a knife by Mills during the attack. Summoning all her courage, she managed to escape his property in the early hours and ran straight home to safety.
Swift Justice: Mills Jailed for Two Counts of Rape
- The victim reported the crime immediately to Kent Police.
- Mills was arrested the same day but denied all allegations.
- On 25 August 2023, a jury at Canterbury Crown Court convicted the 28-year-old on two counts of rape.
- On 8 December 2023, Mills was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison, plus five-and-a-half years on licence under an extended sentence.
