Kent Police was called to a private address in Dartford Road at 12.06pm on Tuesday 11 May 2021.
On arrival 43-year-old Robert Williamson, from Northfleet, was found deceased.
He had sustained injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
David Hucker was arrested on the same afternoon and the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate has since received authority to charge him with murder.
The 69-year-old, of Dartford Road, Dartford, has been remanded in custody to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 13 May 2021.
Mr Hucker and the deceased were known to each other.
